In this podcast, Katherine Milkman, an assistant professor at the Wharton School at Penn, applies some of her findings on the topic of behavioral economics to human psychology. She discusses two ideas that are not new but may be of some use to certain people struggling to achieve goals. In what she calls "temptation bundling" she pairs an activity we feel we should do but tend to avoid with an activity we enjoy and in which we frequently engage to increase the value of each. In the other, which she calls "the fresh start effect", she explains how we can leverage the human tendency to launch goals in conjunction with important life events even more effectively.
