A couple of colleagues recommended this Strike Magazine article to me. David Graeber, anthropology professor and author,  makes several good points, not the least of which is that there exists a situation where a large number of people in this country and in his own, the UK, (perhaps a majority of people) do not find their work meaningful. The psychological impact of this on the individual and on the culture as a whole is tremendous and yet....it's not a topic often directly and openly discussed in the media.
