It probably comes as no surprise to most people that working in a job that allows for personal expression and authentic interaction makes for a much more satisfying work experience.  It can also create a real bond with fellow employees.Allowing employees to be themselves rather than model themselves after the company brand has also proven to be good for business.  Results from two sociological studies showed that employees who were socialized into the workplace with a focus on personal identity were happier, more productive and likely to stay with the company longer then employees who were socialized via organizational values.  For more on this topic including a link to the paper, click here.
